Acuit Solutions (Pty) Ltd (“Acuit”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use shop.acuit.co.za, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect
- Order and delivery details you give us: name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address.
- Account details if you create an account: your email address and a securely hashed password. You can also check out as a guest.
- Order history: what you bought, when, and what you paid.
- Technical information collected automatically: IP address, browser type and pages viewed, through cookies and similar technology.
We never see or store your card details. Card payments are handled entirely by our payment provider on their own secure systems.
Why we use it
- To process your order, take payment and deliver your goods.
- To contact you about your order, including delivery updates and support.
- To handle returns, warranties and refunds.
- To keep the tax and accounting records the law requires us to keep.
- To keep the store secure and prevent fraud.
Who we share it with
We share only what each provider needs to do its job, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
- Yoco – to process card payments securely.
- The Courier Guy – to deliver your order (name, address, phone number).
- Our email provider – to send order confirmations and delivery notifications.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) – our site includes a Meta advertising pixel that helps us measure and target advertising. You can limit this through your browser and through your Meta ad settings.
- Our hosting provider – which stores the website and its database on our behalf.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep your shopping cart working, to keep you signed in, and to measure advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout will not work correctly without the essential ones.
How long we keep it
We keep order, invoice and tax records for at least five years, as South African tax law requires. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete it. Marketing data is kept until you opt out.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to ask us to delete it where we are not legally required to keep it. You can also object to direct marketing at any time. Email info@acuit.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time.
If you believe we have mishandled your information, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Security
The store runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, passwords are stored hashed, and card data never touches our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

If we change this policy we will update this page. Please check it from time to time.
